Wow, I’ve been unbanned from Digg.
Since I was banned with my very First Post on this blog (a good start, don’t you think?) I’m pretty happy
It seems that a lot of domains were unbanned, starting from John Chow (here’s a new link for your technorati ranking, John!) were I read the good news. Here’s a partial list of the unbanned domains.
I never thought I would have said this but… well done, digg!
(hey guys, is “I never thought I would have said” ok in english? I still have some problems with this future-perfect tenses…)
Update: The sad truth about the unbanning of all this domain is that they’ve been moved in a “untrusted domain” list, and digg auto-buries stories from this domains unless those stories are heavily dugg in the first few hours. Read Digg Automatically Buries Stories from Recently Unbanned Domains.

Hey, good news! BTW, your future-perfects are just fine.
Thank you Ioannus!
I’m curious, did they motivate the ‘banning’ / ‘unbanning’ ?
Hi Stefano!
I’m happy you’re intrested
The reasons for the ban were that “a lot” of people buried the story. “A lot” can mean also two or three, there’s no way to know it… but the number of bury needed for being banned were function of the number of digg your story received, so a few fast bury could mean ban forever.
Also there was (maybe there is…) a real problem with groups of digg users that systematically buried stories by certain sites or groups (e.g. digg users hates SEO, mainly for misinformation, or the digg staff that removes anti-digg stories from the homepage)… so the list of banned domains was growing and the community was starting to complain about this.
I think this are the main reasons for the unbanning of all this sites… even if they’re talking about algorithm updates that should allow them to discover if someon is trying to game the system…
Here’s a post in which I discussed some other issues of the bury feature
Very interesting … in the future I will be very careful about the links I post to Digg (unless they’ve really updated their algorithms)
Well, if you are looking for a different Digg, maybe you can try Spotplex at http://www.spotplex.com/ - the concept seems to be different: posts are taken directly via scripts and rating is based on the number of people who read your posts ..
It looks great!
