One half-hidden feature offered by feedburner is FeedBurner Network.
The basic idea is to group together the content produced by different bloggers from the same niche in one big network feed, to make it easier for users to get that sort of content … and to make it easier for feedburner to sell targeted ads.
People do subscibe to networks, because they find a lot of intresting content in one single feed.
You get new readers for free, and they are valuable readers because you can reach people outside of your “blogging neightborhood”, thus increasing the visibility of your blog beyond the mere number of readers.
If you’ve not received yet a FAN (Feedburner Ad Network) invitation, maybe because you don’t have met the required number of readers or traffic, joining a network will give you one… basically because Feedburner uses networks to sell ads… so you get an alternative resourece to make some money from your feed.
By joining one network, you’ll be able to create your own networks, this means you’ll choose which bloggers you want to invite to your networks and gives you the opportunity to create strong vertical communities, great for publishers, users and advertisers.
To find the right network for you, you can browse all the fedburner networks or have a look at the network I recently joined:
Technozone … or you can consider Blog 101, a blogging tips network I plan to roll out after the summer break.
Once you’ve found the right network, you’ve to contact the network coordinator, asking for an invitation. If he think your blog deserves to be included, he’ll send you an invitation.
If you want to pre-apply for Blog 101 just shoot me an email or leave a comment.

You’re right about this being half hidden, I was basically aware of the networks, but had never looked into them really.
Great post, and I’d like to be a part of Blog101 if you’d have me :-)
Cheers.
Chris, I’ll be happy to have you on board :)
question: how much readers do you need?
I have around 55 readers, but I think a big disadvantage is the fact that most of my blog posts are written in romanian language :(
I only write in English the technology posts…
and about your Blog101 - it sounds great, but… I think I still have a lot to work until I’ll get to a level that will allow me to be part of something “greater”…
first of all I need to make my English better :D
I think that the limit is around 500 subscribers… it’s not a lot for a popular blog… but it’s damn hard to reach for us “small bloggers” :)
auch… that is a really BIG number :|
500 subscribers are pretty hard to obtain :(
Hi , i would like to be a member of your Network , coul you please send me an invite ?

I have added feedburner: feedcount gadjet to my blog… when will the reader count increase… Is there any option to know just the number of viewers of my blog.
Useful tips, a long useful post. Using a catchy title is great, it should be simple and clear. A good advantage of long rich post is that, Long blog posts are much more likely to be linked to a lot more content and hence, a better chance that someone will find something on your page interesting enough that they want to share it with other people
Вы получите новых читателей, так и бесплатные они полезны читателям, потому что вы можете достичь, не состоящих в “блоги neightborhood”, тем самым увеличивая видимость вашего блога за рамки простого числа читателей.
Now it’s even easier than ever with Google taking over feedburner!
Till then,
Jean
I didn’t know about feedburner networks - I”ll have to try them if they still exist.
