What are the three most important numbers in blogging? (part of Blog Project: Three)

0 - Zero

When you decide to start your blogging adventure, you start from nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero.

  • Zero is the number of readers you start with.
  • Zero is the number of articles you’ve written.
  • Zero is the number of inbound links your blog have.

You start with lots of zeroes, and your slowly have to increase this numbers. You have to build audience, to write valuable content, to get some links.
You have to grow your authority, to create a network of bloggers from your niche, to find sponsors.

Zero is the start of your journey.

1 - One

One is the number of readers you’re writing for.
You may have thousands of readers, but each of them visits your site alone. There’s himself and your blog. Your posts should be mainly a conversation between you and each of your readers.
You have to write for him. That one single reader.

He’s the one that will vote for your blogging success by coming back, commenting your post or subscribing to your feed.

He’s the one who will decide if you’re going to be successful or not.

∞ - Infinite

  • Infinite is the number of possibilities out there.
  • Infinite is the number of visits you can get.
  • Infinite is the number of competitors that can pop out.
  • Infinite is the number of sponsors that may be intrested in what you do.
  • Infinite is the number of posts after which you should stop blogging.
  • Infinite is the number of hours of study before you can stop doing it.
  • Infinite is the number of linkbacks you can get.
  • Infinite is the number of topics you should read about.

Infinite is the path :)
